This workshop provides a great introduction to the world of hand-drawn typography. Lettering is a playful and fun way to draw letters and words and can be used for card-making, logo design, illustrations for prints, on clothing or walls, for package design and more. It is a creative way of using your hands to create eye-catching illustrations with unique letterforms. It is called lettering; instead of writing letters you draw letters.This workshop is for beginners, so no previous knowledge is required. There will be a lecture about materials and tools, letter anatomy, and different methods to create your own letters. However, the main focus will be on drawing with different lettering styles and learning through doing. Fun and creative assignments will be presented where participants can develop their lettering from simple sketches to letterings with quotes.Brush lettering is a great way to take your lettering one step further. Using a brush pen when doing lettering is a fun and meditative way of creating beautiful letterforms and script. During this workshop we will learn how to hold a brush pen, do warm-up drills, and practice writing in different lettering styles.This workshop will be hosted by Sofie Björkgren-Näse who works as a freelance lettering artist at her own company Fia Lotta Jansson Design (www.fialottajansson.com).This workshop is only for Grafia members and the teaching language is English. There is room for the first 10 participants who sign up.Note!
